Hello everyone !! While I was writing the blog post on coffee table décor, I thought it will be real fun if I try styling my own coffee table with books and decorative objects that I have. It’s also interesting to note that my coffee table is actually behind my sofa in the living room and is a place for all my daughter’s toys…..:) It’s partly because one it is almost impossible to have a styled coffee table with a bouncy and energetic toddler around and also largely due to space constraint in our small apartment. I have tried out different ways of grouping books and things together to make it look appealing and nice, please do let me know what you think???
The glass coffee table which is actually a place for all my daughter’s toys and paraphernalia…..a toddler’s storehouse…:)
It’s a far cry from a styled organised coffee table…..
I really wanted to see if I can manage to pull off an organised and good-looking and styled coffee table top with books and accessories that I already own…….
My glass coffee table with a small rug with interesting shoe graphics. An interesting rug can really change the look of the whole space and is very effective if the coffee table used is of glass……
The rug is from Urban Outfitters. They have a selection of really interesting rugs with prices that won’t necessarily break the bank… http://www.urbanoutfitters.com
Now to add the books and accessories…….
LOOK………………..number ONE !!
Some fresh flowers, a bird-cage with some of my favourite decorative birds and a few coffee table books all placed in the centre of the table…….
A better look…..
So we can alter the look by adding the coffee table books, since my table is rectangular and large the possibilities are endless……:)
Interesting accessories…..the decorative birds are from West Elm…..
LOOK……………..number TWO !!
Add a tray !! A bunch of fresh flowers, a few books and a red horse…..:)
View from the top….it’s a neat and tidy look!!
Adding a decorative accessory that you love will make the arrangement feel really personal and lovely…..
Coordinating a few colours also makes the arrangement more attractive, the red of the shoes and the red wooden horse!! The decorative horse is from Debenhams !!
A tray is a really clever way of styling a coffee table, it gives you so many possibilities of changing and rearranging and getting a different look every time….See for yourself
LOOK……..number THREE !!
A money plant, a succulent and a few different bits and bobs…..you have a different look!!
The ‘&’ ties it all together………
Play around with the tray and the coffee table books…..there are no ‘rights’ or ‘wrongs’…..it’s your style!!
Put your coffee table books and it all comes together…..
Adding some planters makes a huge difference….
LOOK……..number FOUR !!
The focus I this arrangement are the group of bottles with the ivy…..and it’s a corner arrangement……
Grouping together bottles which are coloured differently makes the arrangement so eye-catching…
Playing around with the arrangement is so much fun, in this case adding a few books and quirky candles in one end…..
Love the quirky cacti candles….
Arranging the books all around is also another option to try out….
The cat who has centre stage…..
The accessories do tell a story and adding some green is so important…
I had so much fun putting it all together, I hope you enjoyed it too !! Which arrangement did you like best….1/2/3/4…..it will be so good to know your opinions too…..
