Hello, I have been trying to decide for a while now if I should get a few bamboo plants for my balcony. Bamboo are the largest members of the grass family and are extremely resilient plants. They are very good for providing year round screening. Bamboo is also largely used as a building material in South East Asia and has a higher compressive strength than wood, brick or concrete. There are some amazing structures that have been built using just bamboo. Ibuku is a team of designers and builders based in Bali who are doing some amazing work using bamboo. Their work also proves that the vast potential of bamboo is largely underestimated. Take a look at some of their stunning work.

Hello, it’s the 16th of October already, where has the year gone? It is starting to get really cold out here and it’s pretty grey I am afraid. To cheer myself up I started looking at websites of resorts in countries which are sunny and warm right now and on the top of my list was Sri Lanka. I have been fascinated by this exotic country for a while and always looking for opportunities to visit this fascinating country. They have some of the most beautiful resorts in South East Asia. I wanted to share one with you today. It’s called Club Bentota. Designed by one of South Asia’s most renowned architects, Geoffrey Bawa, this stunning property is designed around a large and tastefully done garden and pool. It’s a place to fall in love with. Take a look for yourself.

The October topic for the green loving blogging community Urban Jungle Bloggers is Plants and Flowers. I love plants but am also truly fond of flowers and always have some at home.
I decided to make a centre piece for the dining space in my apartment using a bunch of gladiolus and a tray of my favourite succulents of course.
I also had a few red roses. I put them together with a house plant which is ever so easy to look after and care for, the money plant.
Urban Jungle Bloggers is a monthly series hosted by Igor (Happy Interior Blog) and Judith (Joelix.com). Every month they share different ideas to create an urban jungle through styling ideas, DIY’s and green tricks and tips. You can also be a part of the fun by visiting their website. Stay inspired and welcome some green into your spaces.
Hello…….it’s fall, my favourite season in the whole year. I just love the crispness in the air during this time and of course the changing colours. The deep saturated colours of fall are simply stunning. The rich orange and red hues mixed with the deep browns are really exciting and inspirational. Here are a few images which are totally in sync with fall the way I see it. What do you think?
