Hello we are well into February already? Wow !! 2016 is racing by. So apparently the new trend in interiors at the moment are polka dots. It intrigued me and I thought I should investigate and well the results surprised me. Polka dots as a theme is fun and playful and work well with almost all interior styles. Given my obsession for black and white most of the images below are dotty in monochrome. Enjoy .

The Urban Jungle Bloggers topic for February is Jungle Animals. It got me quite excited though we do not have any pets, I felt this is my chance to show off the cat I bought on a trip to Brussels and a pair of giraffes given to me by my beloved husband. Not to forget showing off the succulents and indoor plants that I truly love so much.
Urban Jungle Bloggers is a monthly series hosted by 2 bloggers, Igor (Happy Interior Blog) and Judith (Joelix.com). Every month they come up with topics through which you can show off your own urban jungle through styling ideas, DIY’S and green tips. You can join in the fun by visiting their website.
I hope you find something that you like in the photographs below.
What do you feel about using metallic colours in your homes? Metallic is bold and makes a statement. The effectiveness of metallic colours also depends upon how we use it. A feature wall in a gold copper colour can be very dramatic but used in the whole room may be a bit overwhelming. We can also use metallic colours in our living spaces by means of accessories like cushions or accents like the lights or even a copper panelled wall. Let’s take a look at a few examples of metallic colours being used in our living means of accessories, paints and wallpaper.
Would you put a rug on the wall? Suppose you do have an expensive rug and its all tucked in somewhere safely for the fear that the dog’s dirty paws will be all over it or the kids will cause havoc and there goes your expensive rug. Putting it up on the wall as a piece of art or as a substitute to the conventional wall hanging would save your rug from all the disasters mentioned….:) This is also a great way to show some love to an area of your space which is neglected or a wall which is too big for small works of art/prints to make an impact.
